Joe Stilgoe signs to Wise Music

The songwriter, singer and pianist Joe Stilgoe has signed an exclusive publishing contract for his future writing with Noel Gay Music Co Ltd, part of Wise Music Group of Companies. The deal also includes Stilgoe's music to Jessica Swale's adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's 'The Jungle Book', which toured the UK in 2017/18 and for his score to David Walliams' staged version of 'The Midnight Gang'.

Stilgoe will launch a new live show this Autumn. He is also developing a podcast for release later this year, alongside various writing projects. He is currently working on three new albums. The first is a disc of hits from the 1980's performed with a 1950's Jazz band, to be produced and released by Silva Screen in July, coinciding with a launch at London's Ronnie Scotts from June 30 - July 2. He is also collaborating with Giacomo Smith from Kansas Smitty's House Band, and another new album will be released in time for this Christmas.

Live dates coming up include The Wizard of Oz 80th Anniversary at Hackney Empire on March 22 and a run of six 'Joe Stilgoe & Friends' dates at Zedel in London in May.

Joe Stilgoe comments: 'My first job in music was transcribing and arranging songbooks for Wise Music, so to find myself on the other side and actually be published by this wonderful and historic company is a great thrill. I can’t wait to start working with their creative team to find interesting avenues and new projects for my composing and songwriting.'

James Rushton, Group Head of Classical Publishing says: 'There are few more collaborative and freely inventive artists than Joe Stilgoe. It has been a pleasure getting to know him and very exciting to look forward to the opportunities to develop new work together.'

Gill Graham, Group Head of Promotion comments: 'I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Joe. He is one of the UK’s most versatile writers and performers with whom we look forward to exploring new markets to develop commercial works for the stage and beyond.'
