Flight is the new album of works from British composer Oliver Davis (b.1972), written for violinist Kerenza Peacock and recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra. The album will be released on March 9 on Signum Records, and is available for pre-order now at Amazon and for download at iTunes.
Flight is also the Classic FM Drive Featured Album this week, beginning March 2. Every day until Friday a track from the album will be featured on John Brunning's Classic FM Drive show, on air from 5-8pm.
Oliver has composed and produced numerous albums, soundtracks, concertos and television scores. His concerto for violin and strings, Flight was premiered at St Martin in the Fields by Kerenza Peacock and the Trafalgar Sinfonia. He then went on to compose a further set of pieces for violin and orchestra resulting in this album. One movement of Flight has already been choreographed at the Royal Ballet's recent Draft Works.
My music is both contemporary and accessible, its vibrant catchy tunes resonating with musicians and audiences alike.
