December 1 (version for chamber orchestra) is a gift, too brief, offered in gratitude and friendship to David Hoose on the occasion of his tenth anniversary with the Tallahassee Symphony.
There's no better conductor of my music, or new music in general, or just about anything, than David Hoose!
This song, December 1, originated as part of my song set Flashes and Illuminations. I chose it for this occasion because I always heard a group of instruments playing it. The "'transcription" was really the original piano version.
