Biography

Marko Nyberg is a Finnish composer and sound designer, arguably best known as the founder and main songwriter of the ambient pop ensemble Husky Rescue. Additionally, he serves as the studio head of El Camino Helsinki and is renowned as one of Finland’s most sought-after writers of film scores and advertising music.

With Husky Rescue – established in 2002 and currently on hiatus – Nyberg has released four studio albums and performed at music festivals from Glastonbury to Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits. Husky Rescue’s music has also found its way into several TV series, including HBO series The Sopranos, the BBC’s Top Gear and Netflix’s Lovesick.

Most recently, Nyberg composed the first act of Black Sabbath – The Ballet for Birmingham Royal Ballet and was responsible for sound designing the entire production. Nyberg is currently composing music for Tero Saarinen Company’s multidisciplinary reinterpretation of Shakespeare's classic Macbeth, set to premiere in March 2024, and finishing his debut solo LP, a follow-up to the early 2022 EP Ingrid. This eponymous, multidisciplinary solo project combines raw emotion with neoclassical and techno, and is often accompanied by contemporary dance and abstract video art.
