Novello composer Richard Blackford has provided the music for the film Song for a Raggy Boy which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah on January 17. The film is based on a true story of one man's courage to stand up and fight the tough fascist regime in a boys' Irish reformatory school in 1939. Directed by Aisling Walsh it stars Aidan Quinn, Iain Glenn and Marc Warren and will be showing at the Edinburgh Festival on the 17th and 20th August.
