O'Regan and Riley - Chamber Choir Ireland
Choral works by Philip Glass, Terry Riley and Tarik O’Regan feature in two forthcoming concerts by Chamber Choir Ireland directed by Paul Hillier.
The concerts include the European premieres of Riley’s Madrigal, a re-telling of a story from the Book of Ruth. Glass’s Three Songs for Chorus a cappella combine texts by Leonard Cohen, Raymond Levesque and Octavio Paz; meanwhile O’Regan’s Scattered Rhymes builds on fragments from a mass by Machaut to create a rhythmically driven setting of Petrarch’s obsessive and sensuous love poetry.
Minimal Roots…and a few green branches!
