Pook’s Anxiety Fanfare

Pook’s Anxiety Fanfare
On June 12 at Wigmore Hall in London the world premiere of Anxiety Fanfare and Variations for Voices by Jocelyn Pook will take place. The work has been commissioned by the Mental Health Foundation for Anxiety 2014. In a unique collaboration between Wigmore Hall, Aurora Orchestra and the Mental Health Foundation, the premiere will be performed by Aurora Orchestra with the Mind and Soul Choir.

This new work follows on from Hearing Voices, Pook's collaboration with Melanie Pappenheim and Emma Bernard, which was inspired by her interest in people's experience of mental illness. Anxiety Fanfare and Variations for Voices is a musical exploration of everyday anxiety, inspired by conversations with people who suffer from the disorder in its many forms.
