Howard Blake 65th Birthday Concert
This season Howard Blake celebrates his 65th birthday and various performances have been scheduled as part of the celebrations. The official 65th birthday concert takes place at the Wigmore Hall on 19th November with a performance of Blake’s chamber and vocal music by the Schubert Ensemble and Patricia Rozario. The concert will also feature the world premiere of Blake’s arrangement of Sleepwalking for soprano vocalise and piano quartet.

Further 65th birthday events include a performance of Blake’s oratorio Benedictus at Salisbury Cathedral on 13th December, performances at Symphony Hall, Birmingham on 28th December and at the Barbican Centre on 29th December of Blake’s music from the ever-popular children’s classics ‘The Snowman’ and ‘The Bear’, conducted by the composer, and a sixth West End season of The Snowman stage show at Sadler’s Wells / Peacock Theatre in December and January 2004.
